Formed serendipitously in the summer of 2023, The Moon & The Mind is a genre-defying duo that feels like a secret you’re glad to be in on. Combining the ethereal vocals and magnetic presence of Ayla Winegar (The Moon) with the boundary-pushing production and storytelling of Joshua Ramon (The Mind), the project is as much an experience as it is a band.

Their debut release, the demo(n)s EP, introduced two hauntingly original tracks that now serve as the bookends for their latest offering, Blankets—a concept cover album that takes listeners on an emotional journey. Each track has been chosen to tell a story—one of queer romance, self-discovery, and evolution—woven with an originality that makes every note their own. Ayla’s ethereal and emotive voice dances across Joshua’s lush soundscapes, creating a sonic universe where vulnerability meets creativity.

Rooted in Bloomington, Indiana, but spanning across time and space (or at least the Midwest and Denver, CO), the pair bring a DIY ethos to their craft, from recording in home studios to creating an atmosphere of authentic storytelling. Blankets may be their first official album, but it’s only the beginning of a journey that promises to push musical boundaries while staying grounded in raw emotion.

With whispers of a sophomore album already swirling, The Moon & The Mind invite you to join them as they navigate the shadows and light of the human experience—one song at a time.
