MONROE COUNTY LIBRARY FEATURING ‘NERVOUS ENERGY’
One of our earliest goals—and one of the intentions behind publishing comics in the first place—was to get them into libraries, starting right here at home in Bloomington.
Somehow, that particular initiative got overlooked, put on the back burner, or simply felt impossible to prioritize at the time. As we continued tackling everything else there was to tackle, the idea remained somewhere in the background.
Then, a couple of days ago, I received a text message with the photograph accompanying this post.
And, unbeknownst to us, there it was: that early dream had quietly become a reality.
We're incredibly excited to see Nervous Energy finding its place at the Monroe County Public Library. For us, this is about more than simply having something we published sitting on a shelf. Libraries were always part of the bigger picture—places where stories can be discovered, shared, revisited, and stumble into the hands of someone who may never have encountered them otherwise.
Sometimes you're so busy figuring out what comes next that you don't realize something you hoped for years ago has already happened.
So here's to Nervous Energy, to Bloomington, and to one of those little Pique Audio Visual milestones that somehow managed to sneak up on us.
And, apparently, the story continues.
[for those not in Bloomington, we are still offering a free copy to flip through if you scroll past the blog in the AV Club section of the site]
